Ramblings...

11:56 AM

Everyone is born unique, one of his/her kind. But as we grow, we tend to follow others and  began imitating their way of lives. We forget our original nature and merge our distinct qualities into the pot pourri. We unfortunately lose ourselves somewhere in the journey of life, ignore our true selves and overlook our inner voices.
Those men of steel who dare to stand on their own and face the music survive the odds and succeed the race of life. Their inviolate spirits and unflinching belief in themselves see them through tumultous times. They all set precedents for the rest of mankind to look up to them and get inspired by their luminous lives.

'Long is the road...'

12:04 PM

'Long is the road, ancient and often hard,
Yet O! What warm reward it promises!'

I read these beautiful lines on the internet today and the essence of the words triggered a plethora of thoughts in my heart and mind.
We just ought to think, feel and act our way towards our aspirations and rest everything will automatically follow. It has to...afterall it is bound by the universal law of cause and effect. Life may test us, time may torment us but we need to be certain that our due will come to us. No matter what... Sooner or later, we will be rewarded for all our efforts.
It has happened to scores of people before us...They slogged throughout their lives, kept their faith and dreams alive only to be applauded and appreciated in the end.
Life and nature never lets you down...it has its queer ways of working though.

Asmi - the explorer!

10:30 AM

Asmi is a restless explorer, an avid discoverer. Every individual, I believe is an innate explorer and a discoverer at heart.
Bereft of all the cares of this weary world, she resides in 'Paragaia', a utopian island, far far away from the civilization of brutes. She lives there alone with her crazy fancies and fantastic ideas. The island is inhabited by only meek and harmless animal and birds who give Asmi sane company. She lives there fearless and free in a small treehouse built atop a huge banyan tree.  From there, she can oversee the distant horizon. No ship or boat has ever crossed that island, she wonders why. May be because the island is perennially hid from view by a thick cloud of fog and mist. No one knows what lies beyond the heavy white blanket.
Asmi struts and strolls in the wilderness all by herself oblivious of the world far away. She hums and sings and serenades the sultry surroundings.
Oh! What a joy!

Death-The all-powerful !

12:42 PM

Watching Superstar Rajesh Khanna's cremation on Television, a bitter realization dawned upon me. I realized how small and helpless we are in the face of death.
We strive and struggle and dream and diligently dedicate our entire lives establishing ourselves and our aspirations and death stealthily tip-toes in and puts everything to rest, literally.
An end or a beginning...we need to decide.

10:04 AM

As a young kid, I remember reading a lovely little poem. I stumbled upon it again after so many years on the internet and found it relevant enough to post it on the blog.

'He worked by day
And toiled by night.
He gave up play,
And some delight.

Dry books he read,
New things to learn.
And forged ahead,
Success to earn.

He plodded on with
Faith and Pluck;
And when he won,
Men called it Luck.'

So true indeed! Isn't it ? So let's get on with life...

'Days Here are Numbered...'

7:54 AM

'My days here are numbered,
I ought not to vile away my precious time doing senseless stuff.
Meaning and value need to be attached to all my endeavors,
To all my dreams and aspirations.

So much to do in so little a time,
Can't afford to sit and squander,
Sulk and be sorry.
Have to make every minute count.

Lessons to be learnt,
Aims to be accomplished.
Wake up and shake up out of all the entanglements,
Pick up my tools and,
Create, produce, invent, discover, experience life and its myriad hues.

Before the end catches up,
Cleanse my mind and purge my soul.
Sweat, toil, labor...the essence of life.
Soil my hands,
Dirty my clothes,
Tire my body,
Burn myself in the fire of Life.
Act...act now...right now...
'Coz my days here are numbered.'

Fate vs Will-power

6:15 PM

Fate is for the weak-minded, those who lack self-belief.

The Great never paid heed to the soothsayers or consulted the crystal-gazers. They just followed their hearts and achieved their aims. Nothing else matters...nothing.

Buddha too believed in the power of the invincible spirit.
'It is the coward and the fool who says, 'This is fate.'

Everything and everyone is secondary to me. I am supreme because in me resides the macrocosm.

'Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.' Abraham Lincoln had aptly remarked once.

So rise and shine ! God favors the brave, afterall. Good Luck folks!
